MOBY TO HEADLINE CIRCLE V MUSIC FESTIVAL IN HOLLYWOOD PRODUCED BY GOLDENVOICE
New Music Festival to Focus on Animal Rights, Benefiting Renowned International Nonprofit Mercy For Animals
Los Angeles, CA – On Sunday, October 23, festivalgoers will gather in Hollywood at the historic Fonda Theatre for the inaugural Circle V music festival, celebrating animal rights and benefiting international animal protection nonprofit Mercy For Animals.
Longtime animal activist Moby will headline the festival produced by Goldenvoice (Desert Trip, Coachella) in his only LIVE performance this year, alongside Blaqk Audio and Cold Cave. In the spirit of the festival, Moby & The Void Pacific Choir are releasing their new animal rights video, Don’t Leave Me. http://moby.la/mobyvpcdontleaveme
Special celebrity guests will include Kat Von D (LA Ink) and pro NBA player John Salley.
Says Moby (co-founder of the festival along with Tony Kanal and Mercy For Animals), "Circle V is the coming together of my life's work, animal rights, and music. I couldn't be more excited about this event and am so proud to be headlining."
An all-day, all-vegan food extravaganza curated by Eat Drink Vegan and featuring some of the best-known and beloved chefs and trucks in Los Angeles will precede the music.
Speakers, including the most respected and acclaimed voices in animal rights, will also be a part of the festivities. Kip Andersen and Keegan Kuhn, directors of Leonardo DiCaprio’s climate change documentary, Cowspiracy, will lead a panel discussion of the environmental impacts of animal agriculture; Mercy For Animals’ president, Nathan Runkle, PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk, and famed ultramarathoner and author Rich Roll will also speak.
Date: October 23, 2016
Time: 1–7 p.m. Speakers and Food, 7–11pm Concert
Location: The Fonda Theatre, Hollywood
All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Mercy For Animals, whose mission is to prevent cruelty to farmed animals and promote compassionate food choices and policies. Mercy For Animals’ groundbreaking undercover investigations and legal advocacy initiatives have led to landmark criminal and civil prosecutions of factory farms, new and stronger animal protection laws, the defeat of whistleblower-suppression bills, and policy changes that improve animal welfare and consumer protections.
“Circle V is more than a music festival; it’s a movement,” says Nathan Runkle, president of Mercy For Animals. “By spotlighting vegan food, speakers, and artists, we hope this event inspires and empowers people to take action to make the world a kinder place for animals.”
Circle V believes that a future in which animals are granted basic rights is possible if we all act today. Tickets to the festival are $10 for 1-7pm speakers and food or $59.50 all inclusive day event + concert.
